What is the best thing to paint on for an art project? PLEASE HELP!!!!!? - pre-teen art

on my B'Day, I want to do that, I want everyone (we are all pre-teens) and I want to do an art project (painting of a hat), or something. Then I watch a movie. not sure if this film would be for a group of young people from good. In any case, you could help me an idea of what to show films, and what to do for an art project that I?
